Built by a Working Tech, for the Bench

TuneBit exists because the tools we already carry aren't good enough. The freeware is abandoned, the consumer "PC fixers" are bundleware, and the pro alternative is dragging a folder of one-off utilities from machine to machine. So we built something better — one signed binary, licensed per technician.

The Origin Story

TuneBit was built by Paige, a working tech who got tired of carrying fifteen utilities into every customer call. Every job meant the same scramble — hunt down a passable SFC wrapper, an actually-clean registry cleaner, a debloat script someone hadn't poisoned, a driver-backup tool that wasn't a McAfee front, and Sysinternals for the parts none of those covered. Every download came with a coin flip on bundleware.

She built the tool she actually wanted on the bench: one signed, sub-5MB executable with every repair, optimization, debloat, and diagnostic module a tech needs in the field. No installer. No .NET-prerequisite gymnastics. No cloud account. No telemetry. Drop it on a USB stick — the license follows the stick — and it runs on any Win 8.1+ machine you plug it into.

TuneBit started as a personal tool for real customer work. Every module exists because she needed it on an actual ticket — not because of A/B testing on a marketing page. That hasn't changed, and the roadmap is still the author's bench backlog.

Four Rules We Never Break

Every decision we make runs through these principles. No exceptions.

📦

No Install Footprint

Single .exe, no installer, no MSI, no .NET prerequisite the customer doesn't already have. Drop it on a USB stick or copy it to a tech-tools share and it runs anywhere. Nothing left behind on a customer's machine when you walk out.

🔐

No Telemetry

Zero data collection. The only outbound call is the periodic license validation against tunebit.app — documented in the EULA. No analytics, no crash reports, no inventory data ever leaves the customer machine. Relevant when you're under SOC 2 or you're the contracted IT for someone who is.

No Bundled Garbage

No toolbar offers, no "recommended partner" upsells, no McAfee bundles, no full-screen renewal nags during a customer engagement. The kind of thing you can't quietly run on a customer's machine if it shows.

No Per-Endpoint Tax

Technician seats license the human, not the customer machines. $29.95/yr per tech, USB-bound, unlimited customer endpoints. We don't meter sessions, machines touched, or successful repairs.
